Materials Used in a Jail Service |
A typical WIT Jail Worship Service includes the following materials: Scripture Lesson: We print a several page hand-out used by the inmates for the Worship/Bible Service plus additional Bible study notes for their quiet time in the days ahead. Christian Video: To reinforce the Bible Truths of every lesson, I often use a portion of Dr. Charles Stanley’s message taken from the “In Touch” Television Ministry Programs. By doing so, the women can receive spiritual nurturing from a “respected male spiritual leader”,something lacking in the majority of their lives. Praise and Worship Songs: The songs are listed and printed in the lesson notes. I bring a CD player to use as an accompaniment. Application to Crossroads Bible Institute: This is a $3,000. scholarship for the incarcerated who desire to take an extended correspondence Bible course, receiving accreditation. Application to the Jail Pen Pal Ministry: This gives women inmates an opportunity for Christian friendship, mentoring and prayer with a mature Christian woman from our church through correspondence. |
